FREAK HEAT is a professional tube saturator for Max for Live built on real vacuum tube amplifier topologies. Pentode and triode stages work together, one generates odd harmonics (grit, edge), the other generates even harmonics (warmth, thickness).
The result is layered saturation that sounds both aggressive and smooth at the same time.
Most saturators compress the entire signal including the sub-bass, killing low-end impact. FREAK HEAT solves this with sub-bass protection: frequencies below 60 Hz pass completely clean while everything else receives full saturation. Your kick stays punchy. Your bass stays deep. 8× oversampling with dynamic anti-aliasing means zero aliasing noise even at extreme saturation levels. Three flavours: Tube (neutral), Tape (warm), Console (bright), let you dial in the color without changing the core sound. An integrated HF exciter adds presence and sparkle. Phase-correct mixing ensures dry and wet signals blend smoothly with zero comb filtering.

FAQ
Does FREAK HEAT work on Mac and Windows?
FREAK HEAT is a Max for Live plugin. It requires Ableton Live 11 or higher and Max for Live 8.6+. It does not work standalone or in other DAWs.
Is this a VST or AU plugin?
No. It's a native Max for Live device (.amxd) designed specifically for Ableton Live.
Do I need Max for Live?
Yes.
If you own Ableton Live Suite, Max for Live is already included.
Ableton Standard users need the Max for Live add-on.
Can I use FREAK HEAT on drums, bass, vocals, and master bus?
Yes. FREAK HEAT is designed to work on any source. Start with INPUT 0, PENTODE 30, TRIODE 40, MIX 60% and adjust from there. Sub-bass protection means you never lose low-end impact.
